Update on the Birds
This is a picture of our nest earlier this morning.
After deep soul-searching and lengthy research (not really, but we did have a DNR expert weigh in on the subject), we removed the cowbird's egg from the nest. We briefly thought about trying to keep it warm to see if it would hatch, but then thoughts of trying to feed a baby bird came to mind, and we quickly discarded that idea.
Here's the offending egg. Poor little thing! I feel a little guilty.

Jill,
You did the right thing. God told us to have dominion over creation and that is exactly what you are doing!! :-)
The rest of those baby birds will be really happy!
Jill, I am so proud of you. I would have been too scared to get up there and take that egg out :) Why don't you put it under your pillow and keep it warm!
Danielle! That is something Noah would love to do if given the chance! :)
Boy! I didn't expect blogging to be so educational! I have gotten quite a science/nature lesson reading this. I had never heard of a cowbird before. Good job, Jill!! What selfish birds...those cowbirds!!!:(
