But diamonds do.
After an ice storm we had last week, our neighborhood was magical with crystals hanging on the trees. They shimmered in the sunlight and many of the trees displayed little rainbows as the light reflected off the ice. It was hard to keep my eyes on the road as I drove through our town.
These pictures don't do it justice.

Do you ever remember having ice storms when we were growing up? I don't. They can be such a pain if you are trying to drive anywhere or if you lose electricity, but they sure are beautiful!
I don't remember them either. I guess MN isn't warm enough for ice storms. I sure remember the snow storms, though. I prefer snow to ice - you can go outside and play in the snow, it's easier to drive on, but both can be very pretty!
It's neat how pictures can never capture the beauty of God's creation quite like seeing it firsthand.
Beautiful is right, but beauty is forgotten after several days of no power!! I don't look forward to ice storms, esp. on country roads!!!
I remember some ice storms...but maybe that was the day me and the Thompson girls drove to school only to get there and discover that there was a 2 hour delay....
Great pictures, Jill. We have not had a ice storm yet but have plenty of snow. I remember one storm when I was still in elementary where the snow was so deep we couldn't get out the door. I wish that would happen again. I love being all cozy and snug inside!
G-Knee, I'm groaning! You Wisconsinites were so dedicated to drive all that way to school every day. And considering MN winters, I'll bet alot of the driving was in bad weather.
Kelly, sounds like Little House on the Prairie!
Jill, I am so thrilled to see your site and your beautiful family! Thanks for commenting on my site and for your advice about the song. Looking forward to reading more from you
